1. When is the best time to inspect a house?

The best time to inspect a house you are considering buying is immediately after both parties sign the contract. Most contracts stipulate inspections must be performed within 10-15 days of signing.

2. How many years of experience do you have inspecting homes?

We have a total of 15 years experience in home inspections.

3. Do your inspectors have hands-on construction experience?

Yes, 12 years experience in building construction and 7 years experience in income property investing.

4. What makes Realty Inspection Services different from all the other home inspection companies?

We are a family-owned business which is not part of a chain, and we work only for the buyer. Also, we believe to this date that we are the only inspection company in our area where each inspector holds a degree in Building Construction Technology.

5. Are you insured?

Yes, we carry one million dollars of Errors & Omission insurance and also have a vesting program to back up our work.

6. What happens following the home inspection?

Inspections are reviewed the morning following the inspection, to include: videos, dictaphone, check list and peer review. Afterwards, a detailed report is mailed out to the customer.

7. What can I expect to find in the inspection report?

Our report is easy to read and not camouflaged with fillers. Other companies will fill their reports with a great amount of intense technical information that makes it difficult for the customer to understand on a practical level -- our reports are professional, practical and include checklist and narrative sections.

8. What is your availability to answer any home inspection related questions I have?

We are readily available to answer any questions regarding the inspection. In fact, we are called upon to answer questions years following the inspection.

9. What kind of ethical standards does Realty Inspection Services adhere to?

As a member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), we adhere to a strict code of ethics.

10. Does Realty Inspection Services contract their services out to correct any deficiencies?

No, to do so would be a conflict of interest on our part. We simply offer an objective viewpoint as to the condition of a property.
